i am an old old man
as i sit here in my chair, one blanket across my lap and another across my shoulders, having just finished throwing up and being unable to go back to sleep, i consider for a moment that i am an old man. i'm grumpy, i get confused easily, and i despise anyone more than five years my junior. luckily i still have control of my... plumbing.
i've bought two Gomez cd's this week. one at A&B and one at Future Shop (the second one being the result of a 10$ gift certificate.) brilliant stuff that. british of course, which makes perfects sense now. one is the second newest and is slightly less bluegrass?!? and more electronic. the other is their second album, which is much more traditional country/bluegrass/rock. the difference is sortuv like listening to pablo honey and then kid a. the voices are there and something is the familiar, but very different all the same.
i'm also reading on the road by jack kerouac. quite an interesting book, and i'm finding it enjoyable. so far i would say i enjoyed catcher in the rye much more, but this is still a good classic to read.
