are you killing yourself..

anybody who is crazy enough to drink or eat products with aspertame really really needs to check this out. this might be a little extreme, but i know that it turns into formaldahyde once it gets above around 29 degree celsius. thats 8 degrees below average body tempurature.

Yep...again I hear that I'm killing myself. Sweet! Well, you have to die sometime. Diet Coke must be like nicotine to me.

And one other thing...who is this 'Mark Gold' guy anyway. How does he know all of this stuff?

I would love to be able to have other options. Some of us are not so blessed. Eating sugar would kill me faster and make me feel real yucky.
Although, Spenda is a good alternative and they now make pop with Splenda, Rie you may want to give it a try. my mom bought me some from COST-CO. It comes in various fruit flavours (mango, peach, berry, pink grapefruit), but no cola.

That site may be all well and good, however it is not at all scientific. Where do these syudies come from? They should be cited. I could write the same thing about coffee. It was too general in all it's information to scientifically sound.

like i said the only thing i know for certain is that aspartame seperates in part into formaldahyde at the right temperature. that it causes all that other stuff i would suppose could as easily be linked to what its in as what it is. kimmer, i totally hear you about the options thing (i have quite a few diabetic relatives). but splenda, to my knowledge is a better choice. somehow they make it out of (in part) sugar. better than something totally chemically based. alot of these things just piss me off because instead of trying to solve a problem properly, people just find a quick fix and worry about the bottom line instead of what they're doing to people.

I thought splenda was sweetened with aspartame...guess I could be wrong ;)
