Flickr Sold Out?

Flickr Complaints

Thomas Hawk has compiled a bunch of comments from flickr users who are upset over Flickr's recent decision to force users to get a Yahoo ID in order to continue their flickring, among other things (limiting a photo to 75 tags, limiting you to 3,000 contacts).

I made the switch a month or two ago and it didn't really stress me out this much. It's a similar whining sound that people make when their favorite band that no one has heard of suddenly gets their song on the radio/tv/movie/etc. If you'd like to join in on the wailing, hit up the flickr forum. Otherwise, make the switch and continue flickring.

I can see the business reasons for not wanting to keep it around forever so I went and switched it up, takes four minutes and barely hurts at all. I still like Flickr only because there's nothing better out there yet....
