found on an old bulletin

our (the Church) language has become polluted with both Christianese (our own use and definitions of words) and pseudo-psycho babble. we make up words, meanings for words and use words most of us don't fully understand to express ourselves rather than speaking in simple and accurate language or educating ourselves enough to know what the hell we're talking about.

i think i wrote this after hearing someone give a report on one thing or the other. i suddenly realized, listening to this person speak, that if i wasn't a Christian i wouldn't have the slightest idea what he was on about.

i think that's so true. i remember being so frustrated sometimes when i was a newer christian because i didn't know what people were talking about and felt like i should.

forget new Christian. I go to church now and half the time i have no idea what they are talking about. I'm amazed at how many big Christian-y words one can imput into a sermon. I learned something amazing in college...."Keep it simple stupid".
