i spent pennies short of 50$ on vinyl today. what's chokes me a little is that it was for two albums (though technically three records.) that's the problem with buying new vinyl, it's not really cheap. most of the time it's not much more expensive than cd's, but it's not cheap. however if you're looking for older stuff, used stuff, it's usually possible to get good stuff for under 10$, sometimes quite a bit under. i should mention what i bought. Arcade Fire - Funeral (i know i'm a hypocrit, but it is on vinyl) and Jay-z - the Black Album (if you're gonna own a spectacular album, why not own it on vinyl.)

recently, i've been looking at getting into hifi gear. not that crap they offer at future slop, but real, tube amped hifi. it's kinduv expensive, but i'd like to build most of it myself and with kits and the like it'd be ok. total would come to around a 1000$ (american i suppose.) it's a bit extravegant, but not crazy. some guys would spend that on cables, and maybe one day i will too (but i kinda hope not.) plus, i get to make stuff that makes music sound better. BETTER!
