i forgot to mention i got Melissa Auf der Maur's new solo cd and the Cat Power you are free cd's from the library too (why bother buying music?) Melissa Auf der Maur was the bassist for Hole and then for then Smashing Pumpkins when D'Arcy quit. this album is very cool, and i like it better than most of the Hole and Pumpkins stuff i've heard (of course i tend to prefer female based music written by a bass player anyway.) the cat power cd is cool, very stripped down. one song has both Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins on drums. it's pure heaven.

Her father (Nick Auf der Maur) used to do political commentary on CJAD (anglophone talk radio).
She is the coolest ever. Very talented girl.
(She was one of the artists on the bill for The Cure's Curiosa Festival this summer...)
