... And Whatever Rhymes With Eloquent!

yesterday i put together a pretty decent Primus mix for Mark. i'm tempted to make copies for others in the ignorant masses. Mark and Kirk can both attest to the brilliance of Les, Ler, and Tim. i'm considering a second edition for Mark as well; there is so much more to share.

sometimes brain was brilliant too.

hmmmm . . . been thinking of asking you and Marie et al to educate me a little in the music department. I am woefully ignorant it seems. I love finding really cool bands that aren't mainstream but it's a tough thing to do and requires a lot of luck really while downloading (and I find a lot of crap -- moreso than the cool stuff). Would you mind giving me some specifics as to some cool stuff out there?

how many times do i have to say this people...... LIBRARY!! to sit down with someone and decide which artists they should listen too given the music they like would certainly take a long time. go to the library and just check things out. go through the rock section and look for things that look interesting you. if you want to hear something you've heard one of us talk about speak up and we will guide your ears.

sorry, i just don't even know where to start with someone that's "ignorant" musically (i'm fairly ignorant myself, though thats because i see people that are much more knowledgable than i)

brain is quite awesome. and he plays totally different than "Herb". he and les have a new disc out called Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains.

sorry, that's all I wanted was a name, a specific song . . . I just get tired and frustrated with the time it takes to find stuff that's really good (which usually means not mainstream) and I know that you have a pretty good storehouse of music knowledge. Wasn't asking for an in-depth run-down on the whole of the music industry or anything. Sorry I asked . . .

ha ha, no if i was going to help i'd wanna do it right and give you a direction and place to start from based on what you like. you wanna name........

British: Radiohead, Stereophonics, Manic Street Preachers, Muse, Travis (ick), Portishead, PJ Harvey and ..... the Beatles (gotta do it)

Swedish: The (International) Noise Conspiracy, the Refused, the Cardigans, Lost Patrol (and i suppose Extol)

American: where to start? (there really isn't that much good stuff) oh Primus and Tom Waits, Foo Fighters, Big Wreck (which is sortuv canadian actually), Boards of Canada, DJ Shadow, Phish hmmmmmm.... Kirk, Rie little help.. oh Interpol and the Doves. oh man i almost forgot the Mars Volta

Canadian: Sarah Slean (tuesdays the day baby), the Hip, Danny Michelle, Auf Der Maur (Oct 18th, i'm skipping C&C), and a bunch of others...

there when you're done with those lemme know. actually go to HMV and pick up a copy of EXCLAIM! (or follow the link on the mainpage). lots of free info and reviews.

in case you care (not sure what you think of spanish stuff) I heard a new group while in Peru (new to me that is) from Spain and downloaded a few of their songs and really enjoy them. The name is Jarabe de Palo and they're kinda bluesy rockish maybe? I like them anyway.

i heard a song by james butler trio(from australia)today and it was really good.

I've heard that name before but can't recall where . . . thanks for the name Kirk!
