lets see some answers
the entry with the contest of the week got bumped down. so i'll repost the question with a few hints:
where does the phrase "2+2=5" come from?
this is a quote (perhaps paraphrased) from the same material:
Who controls the past controls the future
Who controls the present controls the past
i may drop a prize of the mix disc variety on the winner. provided they can prove they didn't cheat.
Comments
well, 2+2=5 is the title of thse song of the same name from radiohead's hail to the thief. it's origins are not something i am sure of.
the second quote is in the song "testify" by rage against the machine.
i am not sure that answers your question though.

while you're right on both of those points, both of those quotes are actually taken from a different source. it is from one of the most disturbing predictions of the globalized and brainwashed and lie filled world which we now face.

if i can look through my rage CD's and some other sources, i might be able to figure it out, but that might be cheating.

you won't find it there. maybe look on the inside spread in the "evil empire" booklet. it should be in the stack of books. it used to be a requirement in school, but i think it got taken out on account of racey content (or maybe to stop young people from having their eyes opened.) its sortuv like a story about the future, though now it is the past. its related to the farm, and yet not.
