George Harrison?

You wear your love for Beatles on your sleeve man. :)

Sheesh! If Chris hadn't got it first, it would have been mine. MINE, I tell you!

this is true, i do love the beatles. i also wanted an excuse to put this picture up. George is my favorite beatle, mostly because his songs speak more to my relationship with God than most Christian ones do. and the rest of his songs are just funny.

I love George Harrison too, although he is hardly a Christian. too bad, too. He wrote some beautiful songs about God, except he spent most of his adult life worshipping the wrong one, and likely died not having given his life to Christ. My Sweet Lord is a wonderful song, if not for all the "Hare, hare, Krishna, Krishna" chanting toward the end. I still find God in a lot of his music, and just choose not to sing along to parts of his music like that one.

Some people say his song, "All Those Years Ago" was deceptive (intentionally so) in that it seemed like it was written about his friend, John Lennon, but it actually fit better to have been written about Jesus Christ, a man Harrison admired as a social teacher (yup, another one of THOSE!) but failed to acknowledge as the Son of God. Check the lyrics, it works both ways...

Just thought I'd share that stuff which you likely all knew anyway...

yeah its a shame about George, but who knows. he was a very private guy, especially the last couple of years. although i have a copy of "Brainwashed",his last cd and it's still pretty clear he was whatever he was (hare krishna i think, or in that vein.) when i see guys like that who have so much of it right, but are missing that last little bit, i dunno. it makes me wonder if anybody ever talked to them about the gospel, sat down and explained it to them.

i've heard there is a book out there that talks about the fact that for a period of time John was really into Christianity and even became born again. but then Yoko put her foot down and told him to stop being so silly. i don't know if its true, i hope it is. i'd love to run into John in paradise.

i think we will be terrified by who we actually see on the other side of eternity who we didn't think we would see. i will be interested to see how God weighs our faith.
