Who Am I?

I work at a computer store located on a university campus as the “Apple guy”. I am a stay at home dad on a 1 year leave of absence working out my salvation with fear and trembling. I am married to my wife (duh!) of 8 years who I love more today than yesterday. We’ve got a son, Damien, who brings us great joy and great lack of sleep. I play guitar and aspire to be in a famous band that has many books written about them. On that note, I help out with a U2 fan site, www.u2log.com as an occasional editor.

Why ‘Faraway, So Close’?

It’s the title of a Wim Wenders movie (the “follow-up” to Wings of Desire which was remade as City of Angels in 1998) which inspired U2 to write the song, Stay (Faraway, So Close!) which in turn inspired me to title my blog/site. It’s a bit of statement on how close people sometimes think they are to others on the internet when they don’t really know each other at all. But really, it was just a good lyric.
