Lent starts today. I’ve decided to give up sugar and caffeine this year. The sugar is a hard one to ‘police’ as often foods have small amounts of sugar even though it’s not the main ingredient or as it usually the case, not my main reason for eating that food. So I’m allowing myself to have foods with sugar in them – but not sweet, sugary items (i.e. candy, coffee beverages, slur-pee, etc).
The day before Lent begins is Shrove Tuesday when it’s customary to eat pancakes. So that’s what we did:
