Still on holidays:o)

Hey all! It's been so long since we wrote, I hope there are people out there who are still checking this site:o)

We've been back now for almost a month...weird! But, I wouldn't say we've really adjusted back to life in Canada yet because it hasn't been a typical visit so far. We spent a couple of days in Vancouver catching up with some friends there, then got a ride up to the Shuswap lakes to go houseboating with my (Mo) family for a week.

What a blast that was! We had amazing weather...35-40 degrees all week...with a 68 ft two floor houseboat complete with hot-tub to enjoy. We were able to spend so much quality time together which is harder to come by at home on the farm with work and everything else that is going on there. It was such a blessing! And our niece Natalia is amazing!!! She is so beautiful and cuddly and already has me completely wrapped...do not miss her cuteness in our photo gallery!

We also had so much fun hanging out with my nephew Sean...he's such a character. He would wake me up in the morning with his nose pressed up against the screen door to our room saying "Auntie Mo! Wanna go swimmin with me?" And of course, I did want to go swimming with him:o)

We did lots of waterskiing and wakeboarding, swimming, visiting, sun-bathing and eating...tell me, what more can you ask for?

After that we went out to Invermere in the Kooteney Mountains of BC where David's parents and sister, Julia, have been spending most of the summer. His dad had been filling in for the local veterinarian there for the month of July and Julia has been working at a cute little cafe/bakery. It is a beautiful little town surrounded by mountains, lakes and rivers...also overrun by 35 year old oil-rich Calgarians buying $500,000 "second homes"...wow, cannot comprehend that at this point.

We were able to spend 2 weeks with them and had a really nice time. We did a couple of hikes in the area with some spectacular views. It's so nice to be in the mountains. David's brother Stephen and his wife Melissa also made a trip out there for the long weekend to visit; it was really good to see them for the first time since their wedding one year ago. Those two boys are sure trouble when they're together though.
We all went white water rafting one day up by Panorama ski resort. That was a fun time. We kept having water fights with another raft, which was all fun and games until they pummelled into us and one guy accidentaly side-swiped David into the river:o) (**"insert David's comment**...it was no accident - he was trying to impress his lady friend...but when their boat came close to ours a bit later Stephen and I completely kicked his and soaked him to the point where he wasn't even trying to splash us anymore but was just trying to catch a breath and keep his glasses on his face as we kept dousing him. no mercy.")...ummmm....yeah...anyway...It was glacier water - very shocking! About half way down we all took turns cannonballing into the river and found out how it feels to be well on your way to hypothermia...just kidding, but it did take your breath away.

Basically, we've been so spoiled! It's been nice to have this buffer of time to spend with our families before getting back into work and the lifestyle that goes with that.

Presently, we are up on the farm in Clayhurst, BC...got here yesterday after one last overnight bus trip (from Calgary). It's going to be fun to discover our clothes and everything that we left here when we went overseas. We'll be here for a week before flying back to Montreal. If anyone would like to get ahold of us, we'll be at 250-781-3519 until August 23rd and then our number in Montreal will be 514-485-5174
