Annapurna Sanctuary Trek

ok........we're seriously excited! Mo and I are leaving Kathmandu tomorrow to head off to the town of Pokhara, from which point we will be leaving on a 11-16 day trek to Annapurna Base Camp. The Annapurna Mountains belong to the Himilaya range, with Annapurna 1 being the 10th highest mountain in the world at 8091m. To put that in perspective, the highest mountain in Canada, Mt. Robson, is just under 4000m. We will be heading up past Mt. Machapuchhare to base camp, which is itself at over 4000m. Anyway, we're getting all our gear ready (having to buy and rent warm clothes, boots, medecines etc) and will be leaving on March 7th or 8th.

Oh yeah...by the way...we took a 1 hour flight this morning to the top of the world...we flew past Mount Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu etc...amazing! We'd love to post pictures, but between power outages and slow internet it may have to wait for awhile.
