Hotmail (is) for Dummies

Need further proof that you should dump that hotmail account?

A guy, who works in the department of a Human Resources consultancy company, says they made a selection process in which, among other things, they asked for a person with ample experience in using the internet (navigation, searches, formats...). They received 50 candidacies, from which 30 came from Hotmail-directions, all of them erased as they entered.

The reason: You can't pretend being an internet expert and use a Hotmail account at the same time.

Demetri Martin vs Vista

Demetri Martin

Demetri Martin (of the Daily Show, now with his own Comedy Central special) is part of this viral/promo for Windows Vista. It doesn't do much to promote Vista, other than I just talked about it in my blog entry. Watch and enjoy - you'll laugh and cry at the same time.

Ballmer Has Multi-Dimensional Kids

Steve Ballmer Microsoft CEO

  • Interviewer: Do you have an iPod?
  • Steve Ballmer (CEO of Microsoft): No, I do not. Nor do my children. My children--in many dimensions they're as poorly behaved as many other children, but at least on this dimension I've got my kids brainwashed: You don't use Google, and you don't use an iPod.

Apparently Steve's got multi-dimensional kids. Not only are they 3D! they also have a fourth MP3/iPod dimension and a fifth web search dimension. It's gotta suck to be the kids of a Microsoft CEO. All the other kids have their iPods, gmail addresses, and myspace profiles but you're stuck using a crappy mp3 player, hotmail and whatever crappy social sites software Microsoft has.

Mac Users - Download This Instead of Windows Media Player

Microsoft apparently is discontinuing development of Windows Media Player for OS X. In it's place they are offering a free download of flip4mac which actually allows you to view Windows media files in Quicktime or in a browser window.

Hopefully it'll help improve the poor perfomance of Windows Media files when played back on a Mac.

Awesome - First Windows Vista Viruses Are Out

and the OS isn't even due until next year. Bear in mind that this report is from a Mac publication so it may be a little slanted in the Apple's favor.
